WHO'S A CHAMPION SWIMMER?

ME THAT'S WHO!

OK so maybe not a champion but I reckon facing the pool anytime soon after that last effort earns big points.

I figured out the best time to go is 3pm - No kids cause the school groups are all on their return and lessons probably start at 4pm. Only a few kind older folk there mostly 60+

I met Frank and Bruce and Bruce (no typo there was 2) and also Liz. All who were very lovely and encouraging. Just what I needed. I had a chat to the lovely lifeguard on my way in today and bought myself a swimming cap and goggles. And although I didn't believe it when she said THESE goggles don't fog up or leak (they all say that) they actually dont! Fantastic.

Although even wearing my swimmers cap I have wet hair. I must not have put it on properly but I more wanted it to make sure my hair wasn't in my face when I turned my head doing freestyle.

I spoke to lifeguard about Adult lessons to improve my stroke and there are lessons available for $12 a session (pretty good) But lifeguard critiqued my stroke and said it was good anyway. Hey I should be! My grandfather should have been in the Olympics you know. But that was back when you paid your own way and the family couldn't afford it. (Like that should have anything to do with my swimming abilities)

Wore my heartrate monitor this time too - peaked my heartrate at 203bpm (oops) and burnt 525cal over 25 minutes. This was no easy task! Swimming is hard work. But I did about 8 laps or 400 metres (25m pool)
Needing a break between laps because I was swallowing half the pool by the time I reached each end but I can only improve on this!

50 laps was nothing when I was a kid and I always wanted more. Lets get back to it again - I have all year!
