Tuesday I went and did a pure cardio workout at the gym. I've never done that before I always do both weights and cardio. Anyway I spent 20 minutes on the cross trainer doing speed intervals at level 4 but upping the speed a little to 4.5 - 7.2 which is a walk and then a jog for me. I set it for 10 minutes each time so I keep my settings at 40second turnarounds. SO I did 20 minutes then jumped onto the recumbent bikes for 5 minutes and went hell for leather getting my heartrate right up which was good. I have some bruising on the tops of my thighs from something though and I am finding lately that it is killing me to do things with them like weights and cycle. But I set it to level 5 and pumped away anyway (normally a level 3 person) Then I jumped back on the treadmill and did another 25 minutes of interval training at level 5!! Set the speed at 4.5 and 8.0 40 second intervals. amazingly my shins weren't killing me after we finished (which is normal for me) Watching Headland kept me going cause I needed to see the end. We would have looked funny to passers by as mum and I were on 2 different machines (of course) using the same headphones to listen to headland on tv. LOL LOL LOL - yes we are dags but in the end it gives you something else to focus on. It is one of the big reasons I joined Genesis for those headphones.
I finally won a pair of shoes on ebay. They should have been shipped Monday so I am hoping they arrive really quickly like my drillbit did a couple of of months back. God I hope I am not taxed on them. I wonder if it will be like getting new shoes as a kid. You know how you are sure you can fly when you get new shoes! I hope they make life easier for me. I am sick of the pain when I run.
Last night we did Blitz and I am still way behind but I am getting better - I have some sort of problem around my kidneys though I think. I need to get it checked out but they have been hurting in certain situations for just over a week and combined with a headache that has stayed with me but changes in intensity for the last week or so they aren't a good combination. Anyway it's is slowing me down a bit. I think I have finally figured out how to run (kind of) which is healping alot though. It doesn't hurt so bad in my shins. I do need to get the breathing thing right now though.
I'm a bit bored at work but I have something in the pipeline that sounds fantastic! So fingers crossed as soon as Christmas is over I can get right into it.
