*SNIFFLES*

I hate winter! Well no that's not entirely true.
I just hate Winter in Melbourne! And it's not even winter yet it's Autumn!

I have my first cold/flu of the season and I'm grumpy and freezing (40kg less insulation isn't helping)
I finished my Body-For-Life 12 week challenge on what I feel is a low because I didn't work out my last few days because of my cold. BUT I have to say that this does not mean I give up! I do not!

I weighed in this morning at 82.9kg which means I finally broke past that 83kg mark I have been at since before Dad had his accident. Pretty good for a sicky! I'm going to move forward from this. I am going to do a second challenge! Of course this was always the plan. I'm going to get my food right this week and my sleep pattern and next week back into it 100% I am going to be a BFL champion remember!

Anyway not much to say!

I'm Here!!!!

Well it's been an unvelievable up and down month for us here. Your lovely comments have blown me away and I thank you so much for your prayers and support which really mean just so much to me.

We almost lost Dad a few times but I am happy to report that he was moved back into rehab this week, started physio and is coming home tomorrow! It will be months before he can go back to work and there is daily physio etc for him to do but we are all thankful to still have him.

I had my first ever bad comment and I have to say that if this coward can't figure out that stress in your life has EVERYTHING to do with diet and lifestyle then it just proves that if they had one brain cell it would be lonely. Although I must say this blog is about "ME" diet or no diet and anyone who doesn't like it can just not read!

This week marks the last week of my 12 week body for life challenge. Since the last 6 weeks have been stuffed I am pretty happy with the fact I have maintained since the accident! Even throughout Easter, eating crap and not excercising. This program is amazing. My metabolism has improved out of sight because normally 6 weeks off would mean 10kg on. eeek.

I was at Filex Fitness Expo on Darling Harbour over the weekend though and I am all geared up to start my second challenge which will hopefully throw me a few less hurdles and thanks to that bigger results. Anyone who wants to join me (and quite a few people are) is more than welcome! I am starting on Monday.

Living In The Suburbs is already gearing up for a winter challenge starting June 1st so head over there and register your interest. People seem to be doing well with the 6 week no excuses challenge. And while I was away we finished the New Year New Me Challenge and I walked away with $270 cash! So I promptly went out and bought myself an iPod nano! So I can check that one off my goals/rewards list. Now I just have to figure out how to use it and try and get some of my music back (cause I rebuilt my laptop and erased all my music oops) So at the moment my iPod is blank. (yay)

But this is what all the challenges etc at
Living In The Suburbs are like. Someone has the chance to win no matter how much you think you can't! And we source out other prizes as well for those that don't get the cash prize. See my before and after photos!

Now unless you have left me a comment recently I have no idea where your blog is thanks to my computer rebuild. So comment away!

Love to All!!!!!

Thanks to everyone! Here's the Details

Dad had a head on collision at 100km p/hr
He is doing extraordinarily well!
If he was in anything but his old Jaguar everyone has said he surely wouldn't be here and all are still suprised at what good condition he is in!

He was hit head on when a car travelling behind an oncoming tractor was hit by someone else nudging him onto the wrong side of the road and into Dad's path. Unfortunately there wasn't even ebough time for him to take his foot off the accelerator they were that close. The impact went right down the drivers side and rolled the car. He was trapped upside down when he came too and his feet were stuck. Luckily he worked them out and some people got him out through the passenger door (the only door on the car that would open luckily) As the car was leaking alot of fuel. The engine has been pushed back into the drivers footwell and the doors caved in on him also.

He was airlifted from the scene to the Alfred Hospital because he had been hit very hard in the abdomen and back right around the kidneys. As he only has one kidney this was a worry for a few days before they could see it was healing.

They didn't tell us much in our phone call. Just got told he had an accident and was getting stitches. And was fine. It was at least 2 hours after the accident before we were informed. And then 1.5hrs before we arrived at hospital. On arrival they put us in a family quiet room, which if you watch All Saints you know nothing good goes on in there! They told us nothing and left us there for 2 hours where we spent the time panicking (especially after putting 2 & 2 together that only serious accidents go to the Alfred And the people next door were being told to say only positive things because the person they were there for was in a coma) After 2 hours I cracked it and asked to see him and they said he was having sutchers and we had to wait. 1.5 hours after that we finally got to see him! And they told us the story. Scared just doesn't explain the feelings you have in these situations. Thankfully he is doing so well! Stitches across his head, a chunk out of the bone in his ankle, broken ligaments in the same ankle, and TONNES of bad bruising.

He has been moved 4 times in 3 days and they have finally kept him in 1 room overnight and he is being moved today down to Frankston for rehab. He may be home in a few days who knows! He sounds very scared of being in a car at the moment though.

We have been up and down all this time. You hear things like the traffic report and have a panic and have to calm yourself down knowing he is ok and the rest of your family are at home or something so it's not them but then you start thinking about other people you know etc and it ends up driving you nuts. I think I have finally got past that bit. Then other times when you look at the car (we went to take pictures etc) and you want to cry knowing that if he had taken our other car (like he was going to) he wouldn't be here. And how much of a miracle it all is that no one in such a high speed accident died or has any serious injuries!

My email & Blog has been full of comments and good wishes which has been fabulous and so very much appreciated. And phone calls to check up on us etc have been very very much appreciated!

Unfortunately they have served him 6 month old roadkill at the hospital for his meals of the day. And our meals haven't been much better from the cafe downstairs. (I only discovered sandwiches and foccacias there last night) Amazingly for me the scales have maintained although we are all feeling pretty crook and complaints of tummys feeling hard in a "this is no six pack" kind of way are common LoL

I am so thankful for everything! To have him down here will be great too! We can finally do some grocery shopping and eat normal food. (weird that cafe food and take away etc used to be all I'd eat) We can see him and start to get our lives back now too. Thanks again to everyone for everything!

A Scary Day

http://dailytelegraph.news.com.au/story/0,20281,18692263-5001028,00.html

Four injured in head-on
April 03, 2006

FOUR people were injured, including a man and a teenage boy who were airlifted from the scene of a head-on collision south of Melbourne today.

A Metropolitan Ambulance Service spokesman said two cars collided at the intersection of the Baxter-Tooradin Road and the Tyabb-Tooradin Road at Pearcedale about 7.45am (AEST) today.

A man in his 50s with possible abdominal injuries was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital.

A boy in his mid-teens, also with possible abdominal injuries, was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Both were in a serious but stable condition.

Another man, also in his 50s, suffered a broken leg and was taken by road ambulance to the Cranbourne Hospital in a stable condition.

Another teenager was taken to Frankston Hospital with minor injuries.

This report was published at dailytelegraph.news.com.au

The Man in his 50's airlifted to hospital was my Dad. He will be fine thanks God! He is extremly lucky to be alive.
The other boy is fine too - just a fractured sternum apparently.

More may come when I can be stuffed but right now I'm tired.

Thanks to ALL my friends who have been praying and hoping and sending message with good wishes and support.

Melbourne Bloggers Dinner and More!

Thursday was a bit of a dramatic day for me and I don't remember exactly what or exactly why but I jsut wasn't going to go to the bloggers dinner. I mean I had a crappy day and I would have to fight traffic in - find a spot to park and then meet these people I haven't met before in a place I don't know!
Then get out and get home.

THANKFULLY I was on a determined streak and decided nothing was going to stop me. I am so pleased this was the case because I got to meet with some beautiful people who it seems I do kind of know after all. I mean reading blogs etc means you have a connection with these people who are all on the same path as yourself.

I was very lucky to enjoy dinner at Syracuse on Bank Pl in the city with
Brooke, Ashley (who has a new blog please check it out!)Kathryn who thankfully I have met before, Linda, Lucinda and Phillipa Which is also where you will find the pictures! I feel so thrilled to be able to count these wonderful and inspiring women as my friends and I am looking forward to next time!

I have done virtually nothing this week with my neck injury but I have now been given the all clear to train as long as I dont strain my neck any further as it seems to be a muscular injury rather than spinal (THANK GOODNESS) You can really tell in the blogger meet up pics that it was playing up. And by the time I got home it was migraine time. The taillights and blinkers on cars on the way home were a killer.

I have been shopping a bit lately - Westco is having a sale and I have picked up a few items for just $13.95! Bargain. I need to shop some more though as it has just dawned on me that I have NO warm clothes that fit! Which is kind of OK for lazy days at home in an oversized polarfleece. But I need something to be able to leave the house in too!

I missed my training session this morning at the park but ended up going for a run/walk/stumble around the block instead which I am proud of. It hurts so much more outside! And why does the air burn your throat while you try and breathe? I hate it! BUT I still did it. And Storm was a willing participant which was great. Having company and all. I would love an iPod! But out of the budget at the moment. Hell it was supposed to be one of my first rewards and they are finally in stock (4gb nano white) and now I can't afford it. (arrgghh)

Back to training tomorrow! I have 4 official BFL challenge weeks to go and I plan on BLITZING IT!

The
Living in the Suburbs new 6 week challenge starts as of tomorrow! PLEASE head on over and join up! There are rewards and prizes to be won and it's all about YOU! I would really love to see alot of you over there. It's a great forum and a wealth of support information and assitance on top of our challenges.
